Well, I’m back from Walgreens. I’m a little disappointed with my trip. I feel like I should have planned a little better or gone without kids! We have a Flexplan for medications so I decided to pick up Prilosec today and get the $10RR. I got three boxes and gave the cashier my 15% coupon….mistake. When I gave it to her, that reduced the price to slightly below $30, therefore it only gave me $5RR. I realized it after I was in the car and had both kids buckled in. Lesson learned, sometimes it’s not always a better deal to use a % off coupon when you can receive RegisterRewards! But I still have $5RR for next week-I’ve heard there are going to be some pretty sweet deals!
I used the $.50 off coupons for Scotch mailers(from RP 7/26) and got three bubble mailers for $.17. So basically 2 of them were free. I couldn’t use the 15% off coupon because that brought them down to $.99 so then they wouldn’t let me use the $1 off coupon(only a penny off!) I also picked up a pencil sharpener for $.39-we need one!
The trip was worth it because I found a new binder for coupons for $6.79. I’ve been wanting one that zips. I saw Walgreens had the 5 Star zip up binder on sale for $7.99. I used the 15% off coupon and got it for $6.79. Now I need to head to Walmart over the weekend and get some new pocket protectors to finish my coupon organization project. So overall, not the best trip but I’m excited about the binder! It has the nice little expandable files in the front-that’s where my weekly flyers will be located. I’m looking for the baseball card protector sheets-anybody know where you can find them? I have all my coupons organized into different subjects now in a regular 3 ring binder, but I’m always afraid to bring it in the store and then dump them everywhere! But I have to carry it with me because when I don’t, I always find something on sale and don’t have the coupon with me! The new binder will prevent that! I will do a post on coupon organization SOON-there are two different methods I like and use.
