Now that you have your coupons and know when to use them, you need to know which ones you need to keep. If you get the newspaper weekly you will find there are some coupons you may not think you’ll ever use. Here are a couple tips for deciding which coupons to keep and which to throw.
I keep all of the coupons-yes, I do! I don’t necessarily clip every coupon, however I keep all of them. Here is why. After a couple times of not having the coupon I needed for a certain sale I finally decided to keep all of them on hand. One sale in particular I remember was Blinks eyedrops and it was a money maker. But guess what? I had thrown that coupon away and couldn’t take advantage of the sale. I may not have needed the eyedrops, but someone could use them and there are several places you can donate items. So now I keep them all(except pet food, so if you have a pet and need coupons send me an email, and I’ll send them your way!).
Clip what you think you’ll use. Each Sunday I clip the coupons I think I will most likely use. Even if it’s not the brand I prefer. One thing with couponing-DON’T BE BRAND SPECIFIC! I am a Skippy Creamy Peanut Butter girl(I know the natural is so much better for me, but like my husband says at the end of the jar it looks like wood filler!) I can honestly tell you that right now there is an open jar of JIF in the cupboard because that’s what was on sale and I had a coupon.
So now you’re thinking, this lady has to have a ton of coupons if she keeps every one of them! I do-and tomorrow I will give you details on how I organize all of them. I will admit I need to sit down and do a little housekeeping with my coupons, but I do have a system(well, actually two) which I will share with all of you.
