The past week went way too fast, but we had a great time while my mom was here. Looks like more company is coming in at the end of this week! Here’s what’s on the menu:
Sunday: Steaks, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, bread(my husband’s request)

Monday: Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
Tuesday: Tacos, rice
Wednesday: Taco Salads with leftover meat from Tuesday
Thursday: Turkey Club Paninis(I usually make these with sliced French Bread on the George Foreman. I put turkey, cheese, spinach, tomato, honey mustard, and a little bbq sauce in them)
Friday: Grilled Chicken, green beans, bread, jello
Saturday: Eat Out
What’s on your menu for the week? I’d love to hear what you have planned!

We buy our meat at Costco every 6 weeks. I only have to get sides and marinades, spices, etc at the store each week for dinner.
Thanks Jen! When you buy meat at Costco what does it average out to be per pound? We keep talking about getting a 1/4 of beef, but I’m looking at other options as well. Right now I’ve been stocking up(usually at Albertsons) whenever it’s on sale and have been doing ok, but just curious about Costco’s prices!
I usually divide the ground beef package up into 1 pound packages (put in ziplock and into the freezer) and we eat about 1 pound each week. I think it averages $15 for the pack and lasts us about 6-7 weeks. We have 2 little ones 3 & 10 mos so they don’t each much but with every meal we make, we do get leftovers.
My guess then is that it costs about $2/lb. I am going to have to restock this week so I’ll look closely and let you know about beef, chicken and pork.
Jen,
That would be great! It’s amazing how much time and money you save when you buy in bulk and then put it into meal sized portions in freezer bags. Thanks so much!
Danielle,
I also go to Costco for meat and some bulk items. We have three kids (13,6,5) so we eat a bit more than you
. I spend about $250 per month on just meat — ground beef, ground turkey, pork tenderloin, italian sausage, chicken, salmon, flank steak or tri tips. The leftovers are always eaten for lunch since both my husband and I work from home and our 5 year old is only in school 1/2 day. On top of the meat money, I spend about $50 a week in fruits, veggies, bread, MILK (a gallon a day) and other staples to make the meals. I’ve been working on planning the menus over the weekend and having one crockpot meal a week to ease the dinner time stress. Thanks for sharing your menus as it helps to add new items to shake it up a bit!
Allison, thanks for sharing! Feel free to post any recipes you’d like to share! Have a great weekend!
