Deal Scenario at Walgreens

walgreens

I told you all I would have a deal scenario for the $5 off $25 coupon at Walgreens.  Remember this coupon is only valid Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Tuesday crept up on me way too soon(and my computer wasn’t cooperating last night-I swear it knows when it’s too late and sends me to bed!) so I am going to send you over to Deal Seeking Mom.  Tara has put together a great scenario(a moneymaker in fact!).  Click here! (Thanks, Tara!)

Please feel free to post your scenario to use with this coupon.  I will be heading there sometime today and will report back to you.  Enjoy saving money, err I mean making money! :)

Hi Danielle,
Sorry I keep asking questions about the register rewards but I continue to have trouble using coupons when register rewards are involved. I even looked on Walgreens website for the rules involved with register rewards but can’t find any info. Maybe its the store I go to when working in Boulder. Anyways, today I tried to use $22RR to purchase Tide & Gain detergents with $1 coupons for each, the attendant informed me I could not use both register reward receipts and coupons, and I could only use one RR coupon per item and since I only had two items, I was only able to use a $7 and $3 RR and had to pay cash for the rest. Help please!!!

Ok, I’m pretty sure I know what’s going on now.
So you were trying to buy 2 items, use 2 coupons, and use several RR(totaling $22).
Here’s the problem. At Walgreens there is a coupon to item ratio. That means if you are buying 2 items you can only use 2 coupons and unfortunately RR act as coupons(I think of them as cash, but they’re really manf. coupons). SO that means you would have to either use only your RR or throw a couple cheap fillers in there. For instance I was in there today and purchased a few things and wanted to use another $1 RR so I threw a $.50 clearanced sticker pack in for my son so I had teh same amount of items as coupons. Make sense?

I think I get it now, gosh I feel so slow but that makes perfect sense. I will go back on Friday and get more items that will equal my number of register rewards and/or coupons. Thanks again for all your help! This has been really fun, saving $$, my husband calls it my new hobby but I can really see how it will save over time and probably as I get to know all the rules it will be a little easier too! Have a great night!

Beware! It’s addicting! But so much fun! I’m so glad to hear you’re having fun with it and saving money. No worries, it does get easier! I love coming home, spreading my purchases across the table, and asking my husband, “How much?!” He’s usually quite impressed although the more I do it, the better he’s getting :)
And you’re not slow-Walgreens took me quite awhile. Actually I space the coupon/item ratio sometimes and have to think twice about why the dumb register is beeping! This week is a GREAT week at Walgreens! Have fun!
