My Freezer is Stocked!

by Danielle on November 22, 2009

Yesterday was a looong day.  It was completly worth it, but I had had a long week with my two year old so honestly I didn’t feel like cooking yesterday and wanted to sleep!  My two year old had a different plan.  He woke up at 6:30 again so I got up and fed him breakfast.  While he was eating I put a whole chicken and pork roast into my crockpots and started making Special K bars(my huband and some guys from church got together last night at our house so I made treats).

I knew Heather was coming over at 9 so I cleaned up my kitchen a little more, folded some clothes, and threw some laundry into the washer.  My daughter usually sleeps in(she needs to teach her brother a thing or two!), but thankfully woke up before Heather came.  I changed and fed baby and then started making some corn casserole.

Heather came right around 9 and we got to work quickly.  I think we were done around noon and each of us put the following into our freezers:

  • 6 Chicken Cordon Bleu(2-3 meals)
  • 6 Spicy Meat & Cheese Stromboli (1-2 meals)
  • 2 meals of BBQ Pulled Pork
  • 3 bags shredded cooked chicken(I’ll use for soup, wraps, chicken salad sandwiches, casseroles, etc)
  • 2 bags shredded cooked chicken with taco seasoning for quesadillas
  • 2 bags of corn casserole(2 servings each)

I feel like I’m forgetting something, but I don’t know what that would be!  As you can see we were able to get quite a few meals into the freezer for our families.  This will make the crazy 4-6pm time period at my house much less chaotic over the next month!

I also made it to Target.  Earlier this week I had posted the deal on Wheat Thins.  I suggested price matching Albertson’s price and then stacking the manufacturer coupon and printable Target coupon to get free Wheat Thins.  That won’t work because the Target coupon is for the family sized box(priced at $2.99).  You could still stack the coupons, but instead of them being free you’d get a Family Sized Box for $.99-still not a bad deal.

I used the $1 off Nabisco coupon and the $1 off Ritz Crackers Target coupon to get a box of Ritz crackers for $.50 each instead of the Wheat Thins.  I also got some of the Pepperidge Natural Baked Crackers for $.50 per box.

I’ll be posting the newest Target deals later this evening.  I’m enjoying a little R&R with my family today, but will be working on Target and Walgreens later today.  It looks like there are a lot of the same things onsale this week as last(as far as items you’d need for Thanksgiving).  Check back later!
