Whew! What a rush the last week and a half has been! I am happy to welcome the New Year and am very excited for what it will bring.
My days are still mixed up and I keep thinking tomorrow is Monday. We ended up coming home a day early which meant I didn’t get on the computer-instead I sat in the car for about 11 hours. Thankfully the ride home always seems to go faster and the kids did great.
My husband surprised me today and we rearranged all of our furniture. This meant moving several pieces between a few rooms. I have been wanting this change for awhile, so it was a great start to the new year!
I have lots of things to catch up on and get out to all of you. Be patient with me this weekend while we get back into the groove of things at home and I’ll whip out the deals as quickly as possible! It was such a nice break over Christmas. Much needed, but now it’s time to get back at it and work hard!
We won’t be making too many changes to our budget with the new year. Our grocery/household budget will stay at $160 per month and we’ll do our best to keep our $60 per month eating out budget. I allow myself $20 to spend on whatever I desire each month(as does my husband).
I do plan on doing more freezer cooking days this year in hopes of saving me time and money. I seemed to do better when I did that throughout 2009.
My Little Artist!
The biggest changes for 2010 will actually be happening on DenverMetroMoms! When I started the site in July I had a lot of long term goals in mind. Now that I have things together a little better, I plan to really get on top of things and get the goals set into action.
My vision for DenverMetroMoms is for it to be a site with more than just deals. I want DenverMetroMoms to be a fun site where moms can plug in to find inexpensive things to do with your kids, easy crafts and projects for your home(on a dime), and other tips to live a frugal, but full life.
A few things you can expect to see on DenverMetroMoms will be:
Meals for $5 or less-I’ll try to do at least two meals each week based on the sale ads. I promise I won’t send you to more than 2 stores to get the necessary items!
Watch Me Wednesdays-I’ll be doing a video blog each week about random money saving tips. Feel free to let me know some topicss you’d like to see(literally!)
More recipes, pictures, and fun!
I’m very excited for this year and know it will bring a lot of great changes! Join me on the journey and save a buck or two along the way!
Happy New Year! I hope 2010 brings you many joys!
