Check For Free Lunchables at Safeway

by Danielle on February 22, 2010

Saturday when I was in Safeway I noticed they had Lunchables marked down to $.99.  These were the ones with the subs which this $.75/1 printable coupon would pair perfectly with to make them FREE!

This brings up a good point.  Do you check the clearance meat, fridgerated section often?  When does your store put the newly marked down meat on the shelf?  What deals have you recently found on marked down items?

I found Ground Turkey for $.99lb awhile back!  It needed to be cooked or frozen that day.  I didn’t have time to cook it so I threw it in the freezer!

I always check for markdowns in the meat and bakery. You can find some fantastic deals there. I just throw it in the freezer or cook it right away!

Yep- I buy tons of my meat from the markdowns. My store marks them down first thing in the morning- I try to go around 9ish. Today I found some of the 1.88 round steak an extra 30% off! When whole chickens were about .79/lb, I found 4 of them marked down 30%! I bought them all!

One thing I noticed today was that when I was trying to use my Crest coupons, they wouldn’t work because the toothpaste is only .99 and one of the coupons was for $1, the other $.75 which rounded to a dollar. People were waiting so i didn’t make a big deal of it, because .99 is still a good deal, but I was frustrated that it happened. It wasn’t a problem with the Colgate, though, even though by that logic it should have been.

Hubbie is in charge of getting discounted meat … he found mark downs on sirloin steak and thighs on a Sunday @ Safeway and got .99 cent Progresso soup for free with a $.75 coupon …

I ALWAYS check the Dairy Clearance case. I am often able to score overage on yogurt after clearance markdowns and coupons! Like today: http://mypriceisright.blogspot.com/2010/02/february-22-2010.html
