Watch Me Wednesday-Freezer Cooking, Keeping Track Of What’s In Your Freezer

by Danielle on March 11, 2010

Here are a few quick tips for freezer cooking.  It’s so important to know what is in your freezer.  Keeping a freezer inventory allows me to menu plan much faster because I already know what I have on hand.

I love freezer cooking because now my freezer is my source of convinence.  I put some hard work into making meals one day a month or every other month.  Then then nights I don’t want to cook, dinner is easy to get on the table.  We save money by not hitting the local drive through, and we’re eating much healthier!

I also recommend keeping your items grouped in the freezer according to the type of food.  For example, my top shelf has all of my meat, second is full of veggies & fruit, and then the lower is breads, and other odds and ends.  It saves me time so I don’t have to dig through everything to get to the package of meat I’m looking making for dinner!

By the way-I know it’s Thursday and Watch Me Wednesday is a day late.  ;) Next week we should be on time with video at a favorite store!

Love the zip locks with fruit for smoothies tip- just got a blender and have been buying a lot of fruit/veggies at Sprouts & Rancho that I can now portion out, freeze and avoid them spoiling:) THANKS!!
