If you’ve missed 6 Ways to Save on Groceries-At the Store and 5 Ways to Save on Groceries-At Home, be sure to read those as well!

The Internet is a huge resource.  You can find all the information you could ever dream of online.  The Internet is also a great tool for saving money.  Here are some tips to saving money on groceries by utilizing the web.

1. Printable Coupons- A huge source of coupons is printable coupons.  There is a wide variety of printable coupons for groceries, dining, and entertainment.  Some of my favorite sites for printable grocery coupons are Coupons.com, RedPlum.com, and SmartSource.com.  Also, be sure to check manufacturer’s websites such as Pillsbury.com, BettyCrocker.com, or Stonyfield.com.  Many of these require you to sign up to print the coupons, but it’s well worth it!

2. Upload eCoupons- The quickest way to save with coupons is uploading eCoupons from sites such as Cellfire.com or Shortcuts.com directly to your shoppers card.  You will need your Safeway and King Soopers card handy when you sign up, but only for that first time.  Then whenever you log in, all you have to do is chose the eCoupons you want saved to your shoppers card.  When you scan your card at the register, the coupons will automatically be deducted.  As of now these can be combined with a paper manufacturer coupon, but I don’t include them in my match ups as the manufacturer isn’t crazy about us using both. :)   I will update you whenever new coupons are added to Cellfire.com(it’s usually every other Tuesday).

3. Sign up for Freebies-  Another way to save online is by signing up for freebies or samples.  You save money by trying the product without having to buy it, but also they usually come with some high value coupons!  Whenever I sign up for freebies, I use a seperate email account(a free one from hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc) so it doesn’t overload my personal email.  Another tip, I usually don’t give my phone number or actual date of birth(one close to it instead).  I love opening my mailbox to find goodies each week!

4. Read Deal Blogs- Deal blogs are popping up everywhere!  Denver Metro Moms is here to help you find the best deals around, but there’s no way I could possibly cover every single deal!  I’ve shared before that my responsibility as a wife and mother is priority over the blog(those babies grow too fast, I can’t miss these years!).  So, be sure to check out some of my favorites for the Denver area:  Frugal Burb Chick, Moms Thrifty Deals, Bargain Blessings, Springs Bargains, and Cents Saved!  The last two are in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, but always have some great deals.  I’ve listed these to help you(and the wonderful ladies who write the blogs!) find the best deals and save even more!

5. Email Companies- Emailing companies is something I’m trying to do more and more.  It works!  If you have a favorite product, email the company and tell them kudos!  They might send you a coupon for their product as a thank you for the feedback.  Last summer when we  moved I had bought two bags(in two different states) of Red Vines licorice that were too hard to eat.  I wrote them and received two fresh packages delivered to my front door.  I have to say they were the BEST two packages of licorice I’ve ever had(fresh off the assembly line and free!!)!-yes I love licorice-Red Vines particularly!

Do you know of any bargain blogs in California? I’ve ranted and raved about your site to a girlfriend, but she is in California and wants to find someone local to her as she has different stores out there. Thanks!

I would recommend trying BeCentsAble’s Grocery Gathering or Bargain Briana’s Map to find someone in Cali! Thanks for spreading the word about DenverMetroMoms!
