On Friday nights Southlands Mall has live music and you can picnic on the grass. They do have outdoor water features that the kids love to play in so bring a towel. If they are not running on Friday nights in the main area because of the concert, check the area up the middle by Bath & Bodyworks for additional water fun. The concerts are held in front of the theatre in the open area. Most of the restaurants in that square are kid friendly. Then come back Saturday morning for the Farmer’s Market. Located near 470/Smoky Hill in Aurora.
If you live in the area save your shopping and dining receipts for your local elementary school. Southlands offers a promotion every year and the schools that turn in the most receipts win money and other great prizes. Contact me for more details on this- I am trying to get a place with our PTO to be a program coordinator this year. Reader support would certainly benefit our area schools.
