I don’t have a total for you since my receipt was such a mess. Of coarse, the checker scrutinized every coupon as if I was handing her fake $100 bills and spent a lot of time adjusting down my $1 coupons for the $.97 cent items I purchased. Even though Target gets reimbursed the full dollar and shipping, they didn’t want me to have a 3 cent profit. But it is perfectly fine to have items ring up higher than marked and not bother to check that every coupon scans. I don’t even try to call #800 number for help with this anymore since the breast pump incident. Try explaining that you need them to search the store’s inventory for a breast pump you saw on clearance when the person doesn’t speak a word of English and can only read from his one page script. Shame on you Target!
Then Safeway. Let me just start by saying that I planned to do very little shopping this week so that could be why all my trips ended up not going as planned.

Safeway trip one-Take Boy and let him choose kiddie cart so he can drive. Trying out my new coupon binder. Find lots of good deals and am planning to do P & G deal to get the $10 gift card. Boy has demanded a cookie (not free like King Soopers) and really wants a balloon. Has tossed his shoes out of cart several times before deciding to push cart rather than ride in it. Crashing into everything and keeps runnning off when I stop to look in binder. He seems ok to ride as long as we keep moving. Time to check out. Only express lane open and person in front of me has large order. Boy becomes impatient and runs off again. Catch him in front of gum but now can’t find shoes again. Loose my place in line. Cannot strap boy into kiddie cart because my back is killing me. Grab his backpack and my binder and decide to try again later. ….
Drop boy off with Dad and pick up Girl from school. Try Safeway again. Girl announces that Dad promised her a Slurpie and Safeway doesn’t have them. And she is hungry. Give her money and send her into Safeway while I wait in car and prepare coupons. Decide that is a crummy thing to do and join her in Subway for a quick bite and some quality time. Get important call that I needed to take but can barely hear over radio in Subway so watch girl from window. Running really late now and race back in to goble down rest of my sandwich and rush over to Safeway. Pick up coupon binder upside down while getting out of car- you guessed it-coupons flying everywhere because I used regular pages and was too cheap to buy the right ones. Spend large amount of time chasing coupons all over parking lot. Do shopping with Girl. Wearing IPOD so she can’t hear me but using cereal boxes as drums and air-guitaring up and down the isles. Find everything I had last time and go to check out. She spots her friend in line so we can’t check out now because that would be embarrassing to have friend see our rumpled wad of coupons. Girl convinces me we need Starbuck’s samples. Then when it is clear we try to check out. Ipod again so she can’t hear me ask her to help unload cart. Realize I don’t have my Olay BOGO which was the cornerstone of the whole P&G promo. Asked cashier to take off paper products already scanned. Embarrassing yes but I would have been mad at myself for overpaying for something I didn’t need in the first place. Cell phone is ringing and chirping and blowing up (new phone, old one destroyed and haven’t taken the time to adjust it yet so whenever it rings or gets a text it scares the bejesus out of me) and people gathering in line behind me. Frappaccino spills. Arrgggh! Distracted all the way home about why my bill was so high. Should have been $6, not $22 but no time to look at receipt or go back. Pull into driveway at 5:30 when I finally remember to check phone. It was my husband offering to make dinner and now he is peeved because we were gone so long. Set bags down to follow him and try to explain what happened. Missed out on good dinner because I didn’t call back in time. Boy sees his chance and gets bottle of free Covergirl makeup open and begins to finger paint with it. That’s why photo was taken on top table.

Hahaha….I had to have just a little laugh at your “adventure”. Reminds me of why I try to never shop with my boy and girl. It is always a disaster and I spend way more than planned!!!! Plus….they tend to always act up in the stores. I thought I was the only one!! Hope you have better luck next time!!
Similar issues? Do they ever grow out of it? Shopping is never boring when they are around. Maybe a little less productive, but never boring!

I have a question about a coupon you used at Target. I also have a $2 coupon off any 2 shout laundry products. Is that the one you used for the travel sized shout wipes? I wasn’t sure if I could use this coupon on travel sized items b/c it says “good only in the USA on purchase of brand/size(s) indicated”. It does not mention that it is not good on trial size items.
I do not get the Sunday paper anymore (was trying to save $$$) is that a mistake? Is this where you are getting all the Target coupons? I shop Target all the time and I hardly ever see any coupons.

I am so glad you found us! Go to Target.com and scroll down to the bottom and click on coupons. You can usually print two per computer. I cancelled my paper delivery too to save money and have found that now it is a huge ordeal to go out every Sunday morning and buy one. Plus we are missing those great Kohl’s coupons that have been in the paper lately. You can subscribe Thursday through Sunday or buy the coupon inserts on Ebay if there is something you know you will use. Let me know if you are able to get your Target coupons.
Give it a try and see what happens. I think mine did say not valid on travel sizes and mine said on the purchase of three so I didn’t use it because I still would have been paying $1.50 for 3 full sized bottles. Great deal if you need it but by closet is overflowing as it is. If your kids are old enough put one of these bottles near each of their hampers and have them spray spots before they set in. I keep a bottle in the baby’s closet and in my husbands area too. I use the one in Jake’s closet constantly! If you do go to Target be sure to check the endcaps for Tide Stain Release, Downy and Bounce dryer bars. These become free or super cheap when you stack your manufacturer and Target coupons. Report back with what you find.
There were some coupon books towards the back of the store by the deli department. They sometimes have them on a rack in frozen foods or check at the customer service desk. Keep an eye out for the new MDA coupon book there too.
