I spent $20.39 and have a $3 catalina that didn’t print that I am working on. My savings at Safeway was 87% and Albertson’s was about 80%. I was able to get a rain check for the Dannon Greek Yogurt to use next time since the store on Gun Club only had a few packages of plain left. Here’s what I got:
Albertson’s
2 Marcal Paper Towels, $1 each, used 2x free product coupons from paper FREE
Starbucks Ice Cream-Stawberry and Vanilla $1.75 each wyb 4 and $1.25 off each coupon
Starbucks Coffee Ice Cream x2 $1.75 each wyb 4 and used 2x $1 off each coupons
Charmin travel tissue from sample area $.99 less $.25 cent off coupon multiplied to FREE
Coffee Filters $1.50, no coupon but having coffee makes me happy
Kraft Mac N Cheese $1, used $1 off Homestyle. This has also worked at Safeway. Neither store had Homestyle on the shelf yet. FREE
Ragu x 2 $1 each, used $.60/2, multiplied to $.50 each
Skippy $1 x 2, used $1/2, multiplied to $.50 each
Pillsbury Breadsticks 2/$3 used $.40/2 multiplied to $2.00 for both or $1.00 each- I double checked shelf tag and of course was overcharged at checkout so I had to wait to get my money back
Bestlife Spread x 5 $1 each, used $1 off coupons FREE
Safeway
Nabisco 100 Calorie boxes x6, $1.69 with in ad coupon, used $.75/2 coupons x 3 and did not get the catalina I was expecting:( The cashier had the paper on top the machine instead of in it.
El Paso Taco Shells $.99 each x 2, used $.50/2 paper coupon and got two $.60 e coupons to come off so $.22 cent profit
Enfagrow formula $4.74, used 2 x $5 off coupons from coupons.com FREE
Joint Juice x 2 $1.49, used 2 $2 off coupons, cashier adjusted down to $1.49 so FREE but no profit this time
Pillsbury cookie dough $2.50 each x 2 marked down 50% less $1/2 paper coupon and $1 x 3 ecoupons FREE plus a profit of $1.50
Activia marked down to $1, used $1 off FREE
Danimals $1, used $.50 off paper coupon doubled to FREE
Yoplait Splitz x 2 $1 each and used $1 off paper coupon each FREE
1 Gallon Organic Milk $4.49, marked down 50% off and doesn’t expire until October-wonder if it was marked incorrectly?
Huggies Wipes $5.99, used $2 paper coupon and $2 ecoupon or $1.99 for a three pack
Glade Air Freshener x 2 $1 each, used $1 off coupon x 2 FREE
3 x Foster Farms Lunch Meats $1.09 each, used $1 off each coupon x 3 $.09 each
So this is a good example of buying things that may not be on your list in order to apply the overage or extra savings to the rest of your order. I will use the taco shells and cookie dough and don’t always count on all the ecoupons coming off but it worked this time. Sometimes in the case of the formula the cashier will just approve the coupon and you get the overage. My cashier did not so it doesn’t always work. If I still was going through formula quickly I never would have wasted the $5 off coupon on a one days supply because the large powder cans are a much better buy. But since they were free and we already have plenty, I used the coupons. A lot of people are uncomfortable buying food from the markdown section, fearing that there is something wrong with it. In all the time I have been doing it I have not bought anything rotten or had any problem. In fact I routinely look for the marked down milk first because with the discount I can get organic for what I would normally pay for regular. We go through it very quickly around here so I am not too concerned about it not being used in time. I put the deli meat right into the freezer in most cases so in my mind “time has stopped” for it and it seems to be fine when I take it out months later. Also, butter/margarine and most yogurts freeze well. Ever since I got my first tub of Country Crock free I have refused to ever pay for it again. Which could explain why there are 20 tubs in my freezer and no room for anything else. We may need to cover “Hoarding vs. Stockpiling” soon because I am starting to think my margarine collection is out of control!
The new ads start tomorrow so some of these deals may not be available after tonight. If you miss them don’t worry, there’s always more to come….

I’m new to Denver, but wondering if Albertson’s doubles coupons that say ‘DO Not Double”. (My first visit yesterday. The manager said they did. The cashier said they don’t. Corporate says they don’t.) But why all the double, triple and quadruple ads? Do any other grocery stores in the area have a policy to NOT double. I thought if the number started with a “5″ it would double anyway. Seems not so here.
Thanks, Linda from Ohio
