Super fun trip to KS today. Saved 91%. Total was about $115 and I paid $11.04. This is the first week that I have actually taken the grocery budget out in cash and have set strict rules about how it will be used. Hubby and I had quite the conversation about how I spent $600 on food last month. Keep in mind that my husband exaggerates my spending by on average about 30%. One trip was about $40 for the junk food run than my husband and daughter make when I am not with them. And much of the rest was spent on items to repair the house, prescriptions, birthday gifts, ect. And my box wine. I have started drinking a lot of that since moving into this house. But I am ok with it because it is very green to get 5 liters in one box rather than using 5 (or more) glass wine bottles. Still, I discard the boxes in the trash bins at the grocery store so the neighbors don’t look at me funny. Shhhhh-this needs to be our little secret.
On a side note-don’t you love the ugly brown kitchen? It is a different ugly brown than the other rooms of the technicolor nightmare of the rest of the house. They had a can of paint they got free or something and labeled it -no joke-”bad” brown. The best part about it is that it is a flat paint so when I go to wipe down the walls after the little prince hurls food at them, all the paint comes off.
