The Children’s Place Umbrellas’ $3.99 Shipped

Take advantage of free shipping from The Children’s Place today with code .  Shop through Ebates for an additional 3% cash back or $5 free if you are a new customer and free shipping with code FSSPRING2011, codes are stackable. I’m finding layering tees for my girl’s camping trip for just $3.49 before Ebates refund and lots of Easter basket goodies starting at $1.49. Get 15% additional off with code  A6D2011. I have been a fan of this store for years because they offer a “Garanimals” type simplicity and the clothes don’t fall apart the first wash (in my opinion).  The resale at consignment stores or craigslist is good too and I don’t have to sensor the selections the way I have to in other stores.

As you guys might know, I try to be a pretty cool mom.  Have any of you seen the Abercrombie & Fitch bags lately?  We bought a few t-shirts there last week (on clearance) and I was horrified to see a young man with an exposed nipple on the bag coming from a children’s clothing store. I’m rethinking shopping there for my ten year old.  I’m sickened by the message this store was sending to pre-teens. How is it that these retailers (you know who you are) are creating revenue by sexualizing babies. Any one else in agreement?

A&F was all over the news a couple of weeks ago for selling push up bikini tops to the younger girls. I didn’t notice the issue on the bag but thanks for pointing that out. Next purchase I make from A&F will be given to my granddaughter in gift wrap!

I totally agree with all of your statements. My daughter is 2 but I don’t want her to be exposed to too much sexuality at a young age because I don’t want her to think it’s normal. I think the only way we can counter-act that is to spend a lot of meningful time with our kids, tell them how precious they are, and know what’s going on in their lives. Then again, easy for me to say, my daughter is only 2 and loves to spend time with me.

She loves what you picked out for her and I didn’t notice the bag until later. How sick! I don’t know if their clothes would be nearly as cool if the parent’s took along grocery bags to carry the stuff out of the store in :) .
