Sorry for the shouting- I’m just so excited about this! Last week I had the privilege of meeting Brooke Wagner from CBS Denver and her Assistant, Eddie. The interview we did will be broadcast on CBS Denver channel 4 at 5 and 6 am and after the US Open (around 10 am) *Friday, September 9th. Most of you that have read this blog for very long know that I am a behind-the-scenes type of gal so I can’t say I wasn’t a little nervous (hopefully it doesn’t show!). The idea of being able to help others was what finally convinced me to embrace the challenge. What I am hoping to convey is that using coupons does not have to be “Extreme” and that saving money for your family can be accomplished in many ways that don’t necessarily include spending an enormous amount of time or climbing into dumpsters . What I learned from meeting Brooke is that she is extremely down to earth and uses her resources wisely, which is a better goal than to just collect a whole bunch of items that you don’t need. She definitely makes ‘couponing” a lot more glamorous. Be sure to check out Brooke’s Bargains to get some expert advice about saving in every area of your budget, not just at the grocery store.
To celebrate the premier of Denver Metro Moms on CBS Denver I’d like to do a giveaway. I have a $25 gift card to King Sooper to give to the winner, chosen by random.org. The drawing will start on 9/8 and run through 9/18 at midnight. To enter you will need to leave a comment below mentioning if you saw the interview and if so, what you learned. You may even get a glimpse of my super-couponing secret, more powerful than any double coupon. Enter once per day, per person or email address. Also, stop by and “Like” Denver Metro Moms on Facebook for an additional entry, then leave another comment. Facebook is great about protecting your privacy but that means I can’t reliably track your identifying information so that is why I ask for the comment. If you don’t happen to see your comment right away it is because the site has a security program that has me manually approve comments. That keeps us from having anything offensive show up on the site.
If we get 100 more “Likes” on Facebook I will add a second prize of another $25 gift card for a second winner. If you are a winner and are not in the area or are not a King Sooper shopper I will gladly exchange the gift card for a store of your preference.
Thanks for all your support and good luck!

Browsing your website after seeing the broadcast this morning Erica. You looked great and you didn’t seem nervous at all. Good stuff! Thanks for helping my family when times are tough.
Shout all you want, this is big news! Good for you! I did not see it, I wished I did, can we see it online? Thanks for doing the giveaway.
Same here, I just liked you on facebook.
Thanks Sunnie! we should really have you write some posts- you have given me so many great ideas over the last year:)
Loved to see what you actually look like. You gave “real people” tips on how to save using coupons — not like the Extreme Couponers. Great job!
I appreciate your grocery list, tips, and links to find coupons! I love saving and don’t have to take a lot out of my day with your tips!
Robin-Thank you so much. The feedback has been wonderful and it feels great to know I am making someone’s day just a little easier. Good luck on the contest.

Is it just me or was my daughter born to be in front of the camera? She is such a ham! I’ve always thought she would become a soap opera actress. Can you tell those family rules were scribbled out while I had totally had it with the kids?
Thank you so very much- it really means a lot to me to be helping- We are all in the same boat and I like to think even when the economy improves we will still apply these resources to continue saving and making the most of every dollar we all work so hard for.
Just finished watching it! I learned about SavingStar. I have never used it before but I will start now! Thanks!
Let us know when you earn your first reward. It is such a great tool.
That’s the kindest comment I have heard- thank you so much. That is my goal. I don’t think any of us have the energy left after at the end of the day to sustain that type of thing. Let’s just have fun, save money and take a day off every once in a awhile:)
Been following the blog for a while now and just learned about Savingstar on your TV interview. I’ve got to get an IPhone! Thanks for the great info!
Congrats for being our winner!
I missed the interview, do you have a link? I just started learning how to stack coupons and doubling, and now policies are changing!
