I saw this post on Money Saving Mom and it looked pretty tame and we decided to give it a try. Especially since we already had the supplies needed on hand.

Except that my little darlings decided to “kick it up a notch” while I ran upstairs for more dish soap. We used up all the plastic bottles in our recycling bin and learned that the smaller bottles work best. Not for a second did I consider doing this in the house like Crystal did. As they say “This ain’t my first rodeo” so we did them outside and used the garden house for a quick clean up. We played with the recipe a bit to see if we could get bigger “explosions” which my son loved. My daughter would put the lid on give these a shake and then we would all run for cover. Pretty much it just oozed out each time, some faster than others which led us to having “races” to see which one would shoot out the fastest. Then the kids decorated the yard with the foam left in the bottles.

Supplies Needed:
Food Coloring (we used Neon- I’m THAT kind of mom)
Dish Soap (we discovered Palmolive had a nice sheen but Dawn worked well too)
Hydrogen Peroxide- we used Target brand 3% but the recipe called for 6%
Dry Instant Yeast
Water

Original post and recipe here at Preschool Powol Packets- Thank you Carla for this awesome idea. My ‘tween was so excited about this project and thanked me a dozen times. It’s rare that I come up with anything that really impresses her and her brother at the same time. They can’t wait to try it again.
Send in your pics if you try this one!
