OK- confession- I usually hide all the full priced items and mistakes (and some of the junk food!) from my shopping photos but today is the real deal. I only hid one full priced snack item which was the 3 pack of caramel apples that cost $2.99. This is a typical trip I would make once or twice per month to stock up on only the best deal and items we are out of. I normally go to Sprouts on Double Ad Wednesdays and spend about $25 per week on produce, buying only the featured items. Our produce budget is supplemented by the coupons I find for bagged salad and any specials I find elesewhere. On a normal month we buy about $150 worth of meat, usually from Sam’s but sometimes from the Safeway markdowns. Based on those numbers plus approx. $50 per week for grocery store sales that puts us around $450 per month. My weekly budget for everything household related (including clothing, maintenance items for the house, grooming, entertainment etc.) is $125 so that is not quite meshing right now. Hopefully we are stocked up enough to slow down on spending and get the budget back on track.

I spent $1.99 at Safeway the other day for laundry detergent and $7.04 for 2 bottles of detergent from Amazon and didn’t buy any other household items this week. The pantry looks full but I’m embarrassed about all the junk food. Trying to find easy lunches for the kids has been a challenge and I suppose a little of it is okay in moderation, right? Now to say goodbye to this weeks deals and move on to next’s weeks ads!
